1. Who I am, and what this blog is about#

I’m Amiya_desi.

This blog is called “Amiya’s Desk”. It’s mainly for recording my thoughts and ideas, and occasionally writing some technical articles or other stuff. I also share resources I can make public here. It’s basically an open window I’ve built for myself on the internet.

2. Why I started blogging#

Initially, I just wanted to share some resources. I grew by finding all sorts of free internet resources and others’ sharing, so I wanted to share back and pass it on.

Later, I figured besides posting resources, since I already had this kind of website, I might as well write whatever I wanted. Plus, it’s a way to leave more traces of myself on the internet or something.

3. How I complete an article#

How do I complete an article, huh? Generally, my articles fall into two categories: those written for myself, and those written with an audience in mind. I’m currently trying to increase the proportion of the latter; the former are mostly historical relics, hehe.

For the latter type of article, I usually start by figuring out what I want to write about. Then I let AI draft an initial version for me. After that, I fill in the “human” parts on the framework AI has provided.

4. Have I ever lost motivation?#

Motivation hasn’t been lost, at least not yet, since it hasn’t been established for long. Also, recently, because I can’t figure out how to make games, I’ve had to channel my energy here. At least it comforts me that I’m still producing something. Whether it’s an illusion or not, who knows?

5. Setup method and cost#

Currently, it’s roughly:

The main costs are the domain and time.

Cloudflare Pages itself is free, and GitHub is also free. The sayori.org domain costs about $10 a year. I chose .org because I like open source, and I chose ‘sayori’ because I like Sayori. It’s that simple, and the cost isn’t high anyway.

6. Recommend one of my own articles, and a blog I like#

I’ll start by recommending this article of mine:

This is one I finished recently, a summary of my past. It’s strange, I never used to write this kind of thing. I preferred writing about current feelings in the past. Long-term memories seem to be fewer… maybe I’m getting old (laughs).

A blog I like, huh? I haven’t read many blogs lately. For many, I just explore a bit and then quickly leave. If you ask about a blog I still remember, there is one: they’re a fellow enthusiast and a Bilibili creator, they even like people trying to ‘unbox’ them, and their website is pretty good. I even wrote about it, so it left an impression: for_the_zero’s little site

7. Things I’ve been enjoying lately#

Perhaps it’s writing articles. At least it makes me feel like I’m still producing, still creating. Also building websites and making videos – at least I can keep doing these. Unlike games right now, I have no inspiration for projects… and I don’t know how to learn.

8. Things I want to do but haven’t yet#

I want to fill this blog with all sorts of technical articles and resource compilations, as well as my daily thoughts, so the internet can piece together my shape.

Technically, I also want to continue making videos, learn drawing, learn music production, learn game design, learn how to develop games better, learn how to use AI better, and learn more other interesting technologies (it seems I’ve recently even wanted to learn Japanese, and even English. Come on, I haven’t studied for half a year… Oh well, I’ll just note it down for now).

In life, learn musical instruments, learn to dance, learn to sing, learn to live alone, learn to cook better, learn how to interact with people.

After writing it all down, I realize there’s so much to do. I really am a cunning and greedy person, haha.

9. Final thoughts#

Finally, this questionnaire is answered. My blog has one more article, a relatively authentic one to showcase. And you, who posed the questions, have received a fresh set of answers. A win-win, hehe!
