A record of changing my blog style
Jump to comments ↓How it started
In my QQ group, I was chatting with other folks about my blog when someone said it loaded a bit slowly. The site owner argued that a blog is for reading anyway… That got me thinking: Mizuki, which I’d been using all this time, really was a bit cluttered. So I decided to change the style completely and switch to this simpler look, which is better for reading.

The difference is pretty clear. There used to be a pile of little decorative cards. This time I cut all of them and kept just a short introduction at the top, heh.

The More menu still has lots of my earlier experiments. By the time this post goes live, though, LDC Shop and the webmaster toolkit should be gone, and Guestbook, Friends, Travellings, and Support should all be up in the top navigation.
One new thing is this little Settings page, where you can turn on two optional features. Your choices stay in your browser through localStorage, so the next visit keeps the settings you picked before. Maybe I’ll add a few Easter eggs here someday, haha.

Anyway, the new style really is much more comfortable to read.

The left side does look a little empty right now, hmm… Does anyone have suggestions for what I could put there?
